Opening of the 2022 season: welcome!

The Maison Nicéphore Niépce Museum reopened its doors to the public on July 1st 2022, after a summer 2021 marked by the closing of the premises due to the Covid.

Take advantage of the summer to visit this incredible French heritage and walk in the footsteps of Nicéphore Niépce, the inventor of photography! You will discover the exact place where the very first photograph in the world was taken and you will also be able to observe the oldest photographic workshop and lab.

Important: the Nicéphore Niépce House is only open from July 1st to August 31st of each year, every day (except Tuesday) from 10am to 6pm. Visits start every hour from 10am, last visit at 5pm.
